Harlan's Library Mission Statement
  • Provide students with the necessary skills to become lifelong users and creators of information.
  • Develop a book collection that is representative of our community.
  • Promote literacy, research, technology, typing, and internet safety skills to all of our K-5 students.
 
Harlan's library strives to embrace, inspire, and challenge every student, every day!
Our library provides high quality and diverse resources, promotes lifelong learning, the love of reading, and supports classroom instruction.  
 
 
Book Checkout Policy
Harlan's library provides high quality and diverse resources. Weekly library checkouts promote lifelong learning, the love of reading, and supports classroom instruction. Harlan students visit the library once a week to check out books, learn literacy skills and practice digital citizenship.
  • Kindergarten students can borrow one book each week; this book is kept in the classroom. 
  • 1st graders borrow one book; they may take this book home and return after one week. 
  • 2nd & 3rd graders borrow two books; they may take these books home and return after one week. 
  • 4th & 5th graders may borrow up to three books each week, one book should be non-fiction. 

Please note: There are no fines for late books; however, damaged & lost books must be paid for or replaced.
